Senior GenAI & Data Engineer *

Position Description
CGI is seeking a Senior Gen AI Software Engineer with strong hands on experience in Generative AI, data engineering, and AWS cloud technologies.

The ideal candidate brings practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Amazon Bedrock, Python, and PySpark, along with a strong background in data pipelines and systems integration. The role requires the ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions while working independently and collaborating effectively with technical and business teams.

This position requires onsite presence in Reston 3–5 days per week, with local candidates preferred.

This position is required in one of the following locations: Reston, VA

Your future duties and responsibilities
This role will develop and integrate AI enabled applications and data solutions that support enterprise financial services use cases.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
. 5 years hands on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including AI agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
. Experience developing enterprise AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock
. Advanced development skills in Python and PySpark
. Strong data engineering experience, including data pipelines, data models, integrations, and large scale data processing
. Experience building and integrating REST APIs across applications, data platforms, AI services, and enterprise systems
. Strong hands on experience with AWS cloud native and serverless services, including Lambda, Glue, and Step Functions
. Experience with containers and event driven processing
. Ability to translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions and implementation approaches
. Experience integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications and existing technology ecosystems
. Strong written and verbal communication skills
. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.​

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,100.00 $110,100.00.
