Position:   Relief Residential Counselor
Location:  Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington, Wilmington, MA
Salary: $21 per hour

Schedule:   Relief/Per Diem

Walnut Street Center is a not-for-profit human service agency that empowers adults with Intellectual Disabilities to live engaged and meaningful lives. WSC provides this by offering quality, outcome-based services which meet evolving stakeholder's needs and bring together caring, engaged, and informed family members, friends, community partners, and employees to support these individuals.

WSC is actively seeking Relief/Per Diem Residential Counselors to help empower adults with intellectual disabilities to make more meaningful life choices by working directly with those individuals in one of our many programs .

This role is interesting because you will:

• Ensure community engagement
• Assist with ensuring a livable environment
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of each individual's goals
• Provide therapeutic support and assist in Behavior Support Plans, if appropriate
• Transport individuals
• Medication Administration
• Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and other aspects of personal care, and nutritional needs

You are qualified if you have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive
• Ability to pass a driving and background check
• COVID-19 Vaccine Card
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Ability to complete training both online and in-person
• Previous human services or long-term care experience is strongly preferred
• CNA/HHA experience preferred
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
