Maintenance Support Worker (Electrical Services)

Job Summary Supports and facilitates the operations of the Electrical Department by ensuring a safe, functional, learning environment for the continued growth of our students and University community. Responsibilities Assist the Electrical Services department with general electrical repairs, maintenance and installations of wiring; provide assistance with installation, relocation, and repairs of electrical equipment and wiring; participate in reading and interpreting blueprints to locate and repair damage electric wiring. Provide support with the installation of new electrical fixtures and equipment; assist with the modification of electrical circuits in new and existing University facilities; work in cooperation with University Facilities Development Section or outside contractual personnel when directed. Assist in the general maintenance repair tasks, replacement of ceiling tiles, and light bulbs. Provide support with special events set‑up to ensure electrical systems are working properly. Perform general emergency maintenance duties connected to any and all aspects required by the Facilities Management Department, such as hurricane protection, barricading of ditches, roads, emergency lights, broken road signs, repairing leaks on a permanent or temporary basis and other duties as required. Be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closings with appropriate notification of a department administrator. Minimum Qualifications Completion of 8th grade.
