RN Trauma Process Improvement Coordinator Shift: FT Days, 6am-4pm (varies, 8 or 10 hour shifts) Experience: 3 years RN; 1 year of recent ICU or ER in a Trauma Level 1 or 2 hospital Requirements: BSN, BLS, ACLS, (ENPC within 180 days or PALS within 30 days), (ATCH or TNCC within 180 days), Trauma Outcome Performance Improvement Course within 12 months Preferred: experience in chart review/abstraction Job Summary As a Trauma Process Improvement Coordinator RN, you will work with the Manager of Trauma Programs and oversee the Trauma Performance Enhancement Program. Your responsibilities will include organizing performance enhancement activities, gathering information, tracking progress, and benchmarking data to improve trauma care services. Essential Functions of the Role Create a Trauma Process Improvement Program with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director; ensure compliance with local regulations and accreditation standards. Track patient care issues in trauma process improvement and ensure accurate resolution of each issue. Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate processes and education improvements for trauma patient care. Integrate the trauma registry into the trauma PI process. Align trauma PI strategies with broader hospital or system PI strategies. Update Trauma Department Dashboards and review PI project results to assess dashboard metrics. Create and deliver trauma education programs based on new trauma care guidelines and evidence, addressing identified educational needs. Provide trauma education in the Emergency Department, including outreach programs such as ATLS, ATCN, and TNCC. Participate in community and hospital outreach programs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree. Registered Nurse (RN). Must obtain ACLS and BLS certifications within 30 days of hire. Complete the Trauma Outcome Performance Improvement Course within 12 months of hire. Obtain PALS or ENPC certification within 30 or 180 days of hire respectively. Obtain Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or the Trauma Nurse Core Course within 180 days of hire. Three years of RN experience, including 1 year of recent ICU or ER in a Trauma Level 1 or 2 hospital.
