The Opportunity

ReNuke Services is building a specialized team of Senior and Principal Mechanical Analysts to support a client engaged in the detailed design and maturation of next-generation advanced nuclear reactor technology.

We are seeking engineers with significant experience in ASME Section III Division 5 and/or Division 1, particularly involving vessels, reactor internals, core support structures, and related nuclear mechanical components.

These are fully remote consulting opportunities supporting design verification and rapid engineering analysis during an active phase of detailed design.
Because project needs will vary, ReNuke is interested in professionals available for one or more of the following support models:

* Ongoing Design Verification: Engineers supporting analysis and independent verification activities over an extended period.
* Swing-Shift / Handoff Support: Analysts capable of performing technically complex work, thoroughly documenting calculations and assumptions, and providing detailed handoffs to another analyst or engineering team.
* Rapid-Response Analysis: Senior technical specialists available on an on-call basis to address discrete design issues, with individual assignments potentially lasting approximately 1?5 days.

Responsibilities

* Perform and/or independently verify engineering analyses supporting ASME Section III components and structures.
* Apply ASME Section III Division 5 and/or Division 1 requirements to component design and analysis.
* Support design and analysis of vessels, core supports, reactor internals, structural components, and related mechanical equipment.
* Perform or review structural, thermal, mechanical, fatigue, seismic, and other applicable engineering analyses.
* Develop, review, and verify engineering calculations and calculation packages.
* Perform design verification of calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications, and other engineering deliverables.
* Develop and evaluate finite-element models and associated engineering analyses.
* Evaluate stresses, loads, load combinations, boundary conditions, material properties, acceptance criteria, and applicable code requirements.
* Support resolution of discrete technical issues arising during detailed design and design maturation.
* Evaluate design changes and determine potential impacts to existing analyses and qualification.
* Clearly document engineering methodology, assumptions, calculations, conclusions, and outstanding technical issues.
* Provide technically complete handoff documentation when analysis activities transition between engineers or shifts.
* Work collaboratively with mechanical design, reactor design, systems engineering, materials, project engineering, and other technical disciplines.
* Participate in technical reviews and communicate complex analysis results to engineering stakeholders.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. Advanced degree preferred for Principal-level candidates.
* Significant experience performing mechanical and/or structural analysis of nuclear components.
* Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III.
* Experience with Section III Division 5 strongly preferred.
* Candidates with substantial Section III Division 1 experience will also be considered.
* Experience with nuclear vessels, reactor internals, core support structures, pressure-retaining components, or comparable safety-related mechanical equipment strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated experience with engineering design verification and independent technical review.
* Strong finite-element analysis experience; ANSYS or comparable FEA software experience preferred.
* Experience with structural mechanics, stress analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue, seismic/dynamic loading, or other applicable mechanical-integrity evaluations.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, design criteria, and applicable code requirements.
* Experience preparing technically defensible engineering calculations and formal calculation packages.
* Experience working within nuclear quality and configuration-control programs preferred.
* Previous advanced reactor or first-of-a-kind nuclear technology experience is highly desirable.

For engineers interested in swing-shift or handoff-based assignments, ReNuke is particularly interested in professionals who:

* Possess exceptional written technical communication skills.
* Maintain highly organized calculation files and engineering records.
* Can clearly document assumptions, model status, completed work, outstanding issues, and recommended next steps.
* Are comfortable receiving work from another analyst and continuing an analysis without unnecessary duplication.
* Can provide a detailed technical handoff that allows another qualified engineer to continue the work efficiently.

Additional Qualifications for Rapid-Response Support

For on-call assignments, ideal candidates will be seasoned Senior, Principal, Consulting, or Subject Matter Expert-level engineers capable of rapidly evaluating discrete engineering issues with minimal ramp-up time.
Candidates should be comfortable accepting short-duration assignments that may last approximately 1?5 days and providing technically defensible conclusions under compressed schedules.

Ideal Candidate

These positions are intended for experienced nuclear engineering professionals who can operate with a high degree of independence.

The strongest candidates will combine deep ASME Section III mechanical-integrity expertise with the ability to understand a complex design problem quickly, select an appropriate analysis methodology, execute or independently verify the analysis, and produce documentation capable of standing on its own in a rigorous nuclear engineering environment.

ReNuke is particularly interested in experienced nuclear consultants and Senior/Principal-level engineers who may be available for full project support, nontraditional schedules, or short-duration technical assignments.
