Marketing Designer - Print & Social

Company Description

Our client, a residential real estate firm in Mountain View, California, is seeking an independent designer and content consultant to execute listing and company marketing within an established brand and marketing system. The client has already built its brand, InDesign templates, social media templates and workflows, and listing package standards. The consultant will produce deliverables within those existing systems, using their own professional judgment, process, and tools.

This is an execution-focused engagement , not a brand-building or creative strategy role. It is best suited to an experienced freelance designer with strong visual judgment and print-production experience who runs their own practice and is comfortable delivering against defined turnaround windows during active listing periods.

• Client: Silicon Valley residential real estate sales and property management firm
• Engagement type: Independent contractor (1099), remote, EST hours preferred
• Term: 3-month initial contract, with the potential to extend by mutual agreement
• Estimated volume: Approximately 45–70 hours/month, varying with listing activity
• Compensation: $42-48/hr

Job Description

Scope of Work

Deliverables are requested on a project or listing basis and may include:

• Listing brochures, flyers, and other print collateral built from the client's established InDesign templates

• Selecting the strongest property photography for each listing's print and digital materials

• Polished, production-ready print files, including coordinating print production handoffs

• Listing social media packages (graphics and captions) using the client's existing social templates and workflows, including scheduling or publishing when requested

• Company social media graphics and posts

• Event marketing materials

• Occasional new design pieces outside the existing template library

• Listing copy, social captions, event copy, headlines, and short-form marketing messages developed from property details and agent input

• Revisions to delivered work within agreed revision rounds

Brand development, thought-leadership content, and broader marketing strategy are handled separately and are outside the scope of this engagement.

Turnaround Expectations

Listing work is time-sensitive. For active listings, the client's target is for final creative, copy, and social packages to be ready for approval within approximately 24 hours of receiving photography and listing assets. Specific turnaround windows, availability, and rush terms will be agreed upon with the consultant at the outset of the engagement.

Qualifications

• Proven freelance or agency experience in graphic design and social media content

• Strong visual judgment, including selecting and presenting photography effectively

• Hands-on print-production experience and the ability to prepare clean, production-ready files

• Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator (Canva-only portfolios are not a fit; Canva experience is a plus)

• Strong short-form copywriting skills, with the ability to deliver polished copy that doesn't need to be rewritten

• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within an existing brand system and template library

• Real estate marketing experience is a plus

• Portfolio required
