Managing Attorney

Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and driven attorney/non-attorney representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients at various stages of the Social Security Disability process, including initial applications, hearings before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), and appeals. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in SSD/SSI hearings (telephone, video, and in-person) before ALJs Conduct client interviews and assess case viability Prepare legal briefs, medical summaries, and hearing memos Review medical records and gather additional evidence as needed Communicate with clients, doctors, and government agencies Manage a caseload efficiently while providing high-quality legal services Stay current on changes in Social Security law and regulations Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in any U.S. State (NY preferred)/current participation in SSA’s Non-Attorney Representative program 1+ years of experience handling Social Security Disability cases preferred (new attorneys with relevant internships or clinic experience may be considered) Strong advocacy, writing, and interpersonal skills Compassion for clients and commitment to social justice Ability to manage deadlines and work independently Preferred Skills: Bilingual (especially Spanish) a plus Experience with case management software What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package Flexible work environment (would prefer in-house in Suffolk or Nassau County but willing to consider partial remote work) Supportive and collaborative team culture Opportunities for professional development Meaningful work that makes a difference in people’s lives How to Apply: Please submit your resume, cover letter, and writing sample to View email address on click.appcast.io with the subject line: Social Security Disability Attorney/NAR Application – [Your Name]. #J-18808-Ljbffr National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives
