POSITION SUMMARYThe Shift Leader is responsible for supervising Member Services Representatives (MSR) during a given set of work hours. Shift Leaders support the Assistant Manager and General Manager by supervising tasks, monitoring performance, ensuring adherence to company policies, and delegating work. Shift Leaders are expected to lead others by example by providing exemplary service themselves. Shift Leaders act as the first line of defense for member issues and employee disagreements.ESSENTIAL DUTIESOversees club operations when the manager is absent.Delegates and assigns tasks/duties and work activities to employees.Provides and maintain a high level of customer service.Complete audits of all staff related assignments in a timely manner to ensure the facility meets the SoCal Fitness Partners cleanliness standards.Provides direction and feedback to workers during shifts.Report all disciplinary actions or infractions via the CorpStrat portal.Assist the Assistant Manager or General Manager with any shift related Employee Warnings.Trains and coaches new and current employees.Attend weekly management meeting.Ensures health and safety standards are followed.Addresses customer complaints.Fosters and maintains a positive work environment.Shift Leaders May be Assigned the Following:Checks club inventory of supplies and updates the inventory spreadsheet, emails inventory spreadsheet to Jacki. Weekly.Completes daily/Weekly/Monthly Club reporting.PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONMust be 18 years of age or older.High school diploma or GED.Minimum three months in MSR position at SoCal Fitness Partners.CPR Certification.Moderate knowledge in the use of computer technology.A passion for fitness and health.Ability to interact effectively, positively and consistently with members, guests, vendors and coworkers.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Focus on consistently exceeding member expectations.Demonstrated diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.Ability to influence and negotiate to positive outcomes.Strong organizational skills.Strong planning, project management and time management abilities.Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to function in high-pressure and fast-paced situations.Correctable vision and hearing.Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.Ability to communicate verbally in a clear understandable speaking voice both in person and on the telephone.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs without assistance.May be exposed to cleaning chemicals.Ability to adhere to all safety procedures.Consistently maintains excellent punctuality and reliable attendance.Ability to adhere to SoCal Fitness Partners uniform policy.This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
