Senior Back-End Engineer
Virtual Vocations Inc
To lead the technical direction of public API development, the full-time Senior Back-End Engineer will manage the architecture of provider search, ranking, and copay lookup systems while mentoring engineers and driving execution in a fully remote environment.
Key responsibilities
Drive technical direction, implementation, and production support for client-facing gRPC APIs and SDKs
Make long-term public API design decisions, ensuring versioning, backward compatibility, and reliable integrations
Design and evolve ranking logic to balance relevance, network status, and cost in provider search results
Required qualifications
8+ years of experience building backend services and distributed systems
Deep experience with search systems and architecture at scale
Proven track record of shipping public APIs and SDKs with a focus on versioning and compatibility
Demonstrated ability to operate as a technical lead and influence engineering practices
Experience with GCP data infrastructure at scale, including AlloyDB/Postgres and BigQuery
