Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit. Ensure safe, effective patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, adhering to clinical standards and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer IV therapies, perform phlebotomy, and manage conscious sedation as required.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on delivery procedures, postnatal care, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate's Degree (ASN, ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Possess a valid New York State RN license with primary source verification from NYS Department of Education.
• Have at least two years of Maternal and Child health experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
