ABOUT THE POSITION: A multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and surveying firm is seeking motivated Civil Engineering professionals at levels ranging from entry-level designer to licensed Professional Engineer and management. The selected candidate will create engineering plans for a variety of civil infrastructure and development projects, working with project managers and clients from initial site visits and data collection through technical specifications and construction. | RESPONSIBILITIES: Create detailed engineering drawings and plans using CAD software, particularly AutoCAD; perform engineering calculations and technical analysis to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards; prepare technical specifications, reports, and detailed construction cost estimates; conduct site visits and gather field data for design development and project accuracy; collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand and execute project objectives; participate in design reviews and provide technical input; and, for senior-level candidates, manage project life cycles and budgets while mentoring junior staff and supporting successful project delivery. | REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field; demonstrated knowledge of CAD software, preferably AutoCAD; strong analytical and problem-solving ability; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong teamwork and stakeholder-interaction skills; ability to multitask and manage multiple project deadlines; high attention to detail; and ability to attend an on-site interview in Binghamton, New York. | PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Professional Engineer license for mid-to-senior-level candidates; 5 or more years of civil-design experience or management experience for lead positions; and proficiency with advanced civil-engineering modeling or surveying software. | LEVEL EXPECTATIONS: Entry-level candidates may support design, drafting, calculations, documentation, and field data collection. Licensed and management-level candidates may supervise junior designers, manage projects and budgets, mentor staff, and maintain client relationships.
