Recruitment Specialist - Pratt or Topeka

Pratt Operations Office OR Office of the Secretary Unclassified, Full-Time, On-Site Beginning Salary: $20.13/hour This position is located in Pratt or Topeka, Kansas and is supervised by the Human Resources Director. This position is accepting applications until August 23, 2026. Key Responsibilities: Onboarding and offboarding for all full-time employees, this includes the notification process both internal and external Entry into SHARP, MAP Portal and KPERS Contact with all new employees, collection of all paper documents including first day documents, (I-9, W-4, K-4, Direct Deposit, etc.) Full Cycle temporary/seasonal employee recruiting Communicate with hiring managers to find need, locate positions, gain approval for positions Post jobs to Kansas job portal and other sites, communicate with public relations team to ensure job posting is on the KDWP website Coordinate interviews with supervisors and candidates, background checks and coordinate onboarding and offboarding with other HR professionals Build and maintain all personnel files for the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, this includes following all state laws and regulations, requesting personnel files from other agencies, providing personnel files to other agencies, keeping accurate files, and maintaining strict confidentiality Primary contact for agency Drug Screening program for all sensitive or DOT positions, while working directly with Department of Administration to process all drug screenings in a timely manner Primary point of contact for agency wide E-Verify program to ensure I-9 compliance for all full-time, part-time and temporary/seasonal employees Provide filing support for Human Resource office, this includes filing in personnel files, recruitment files, fiscal files, organizing electronic files, etc. Help plan and participate in the agency wide service award program to recognize state service Other duties as assigned. Paid Leave: Holidays, sick leave, vacation leave, and parental leave. One year of experience in planning, directing, organizing, managing or administering personnel or human resources functions. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, TEAMS, Outlook) Experience working with SHARP, general HR principles A proven track record working in State of Kansas systems, drug testing programs Experience with personnel files and federal and state hiring documents The ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agency supervisors and the public a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks
