Interim Staff Accountant

Interim Staff Accountant Our client, a financial services company, is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to provide support during a temporary leave coverage period. The position is hybrid, with in-office expectations in Austin, TX. There is potential for remote flexibility. This engagement is expected to last 3-4 months. Responsibilities: Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet, cash, and operational accounts Review account activity, investigate discrepancies, and resolve variances in a timely manner Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for internal and external reporting purposes Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to research and resolve accounting issues Support audit requests by gathering documentation and reconciliation supportMaintain accurate accounting records and assist with financial reporting activities Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation processes, controls, and documentation Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 1–4 years of accounting experience Strong account reconciliation and transactional accounting experience Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and working with large datasets Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Compensation: Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to: The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; Licensure and certifications; Office location and other geographic considerations; Other business and organizational needs.
