Seasonal Associate I - Operations – Evening ShiftPosition Summary Johnny's is currently hiring a Seasonal Associate I - Operations for the Evening Shift. This role will work in all Operational Departments and will require cross-training in the Seed Packing, Shipping and Warehouse departments as needed to support business operations. The ideal candidate will be motivated and possess excellent organizational skills.This is a seasonal business, so hours may change during peak times. The usual hours for the Evening Shift are Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. During the busiest period, overtime will be required.Starting pay for the Evening Shift is $19.51 per hour ($17.51/hr base rate plus $2.00/hr differential pay for working evening hours).Seasonal Employee BenefitsThese positions are Seasonal and will end based on a season-end date or an agreed-upon end date. This discount is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Seasonal Employee Handbook.Position ResponsibilitiesSeed Packing functions may include:You will pack seed into both commercial and consumer sizes using various hand or mechanical tools available. Being comfortable working in a repetitive process environment and able to follow detailed instructions are essential. Basic computer skills are required. Familiarity with converting ounces/pounds to grams is also necessary. Tasks include assembling kits and products, as well as processing bulk seed orders for commercial purposes, weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.Shipping and Warehouse functions may include:You will learn to perform various tasks in the Shipping and Warehouse departments. These tasks include locating incoming materials in different stockrooms, finding items using inventory systems, reorganizing materials, shrink-wrapping, and labeling. You may also need to assist the receiver with sampling, labeling, or receiving; support cycle counters with locating and weighing. Additionally, you should report any issues or shortages to your supervisor or lead, support daily order shipments by gathering, checking, packing, shipping, stocking, and performing other duties as needed. You will use handheld devices for accurate inventory picking and tracking, and prepare inventory for the shipping department. You will have the desire to maintain a balanced work environment by working efficiently and accurately while keeping the workspace clean and safe.Qualifications & SkillsPunctuality and dependability are crucial for this role.The ability to perform simple mathematical functions is a key part of the production process.Accuracy and attention to detail are critical aspects of this role.Ability to work unsupervised as well as with a team.Working in a safe and effective manner is required.Able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating in a positive and professional manner with internal and external customers.Ability to comply with the company policies and procedures.Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.Team focused and collaborative to achieve departmental and company goals.Physical Requirements Ability to read, communicate, and work with numbers.Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift to 50 lbs. repetitively.Ability to climb stationary ladders.Johnny's Selected Seeds was established in 1973 by our Founder, Rob Johnston, Jr. Today we are 100% Employee Owned.
