Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every-other-weekend required (Saturday & Sunday) | Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6, with potential for up to 7 patients based on acuity toward end of shift
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system; monitor techs are available on most units
• Administer aerosol treatments for non-vented patients and perform EKGs as needed
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy staff to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, cardiac cath, orthopedic, and oncology conditions (note: permanent staff will administer chemotherapy)
• Comply with facility dress code: Royal Blue scrubs; no false nails permitted

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry/cardiac strips
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required with all submissions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical or similar acute care setting
• Familiarity with Accudose pharmacy dispensing systems
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP patient populations
• Comfort working in a traveler-friendly environment with block scheduling opportunities upon request
