No weekends, no holidays, no call.Benefits include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) eligibility after 6 months of employmentPaid time offSupportive team environmentJob Summary:The Certified Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.Reports To: Director of NursingQualifications:Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experienceCertified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification requiredKnowledge of sterilization methods, biological monitoring, and instrument trackingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamOccupational Exposure:Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards, cleaning agents, and sterilization equipment may encounter radiation hazards.Responsibilities:Performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment. Adheres to AAMI and facility standards for sterile processing and infection prevention. Maintains, monitors and documents sterilization cycles, biological indicators, chemical indicators, and quality assurance records.Demonstrates understanding of regulatory issuesFollows employee safety policies and proceduresDemonstrates fiscal responsibilitiesKeeps the Sterile Processing Department clean, organized, and adequately stockedFollows infection prevention, employee safety, and hazardous waste policiesAttends all mandatory in-services and participates in staff meetingsCompletes all mandatory education assigned within the allotted time frameRemains flexible, adaptive and able to accept and implement new ideas and approachesTreats all patients equally adopting the centers Patient Rights policyWillingness to assist with other duties when askedPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
