Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) LPNNaphCare is hiring a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) LPN to join our team of medical professionals in Ocala, FL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Marion County Jail.As a Correctional Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) LPN, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.ResponsibilitiesAs an LPN, you will play a critical role in our continued mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Duties and responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Performing comprehensive patient assessments to determine eligibility for MAT, including medical history, substance use history, mental health evaluation, and physical examinationAdministering MAT medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosing, and monitoring for adverse effects and drug interactionEducating patients about MAT medications, potential side effects, and the importance of medication adherence, addressing misconceptions and stigmaMonitoring patients in the induction, stabilization, and phases of treatment patient ensuring adherence to the programMaintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCareObserving patient health and mental health statusProviding emergency first aidProviding patient education and discharge/release planningQualificationsExperience / Requirements / QualificationsGraduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing programHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical NurseMust possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required)Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningPhysical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US, and we are growing.
