Underwriting Support Specialist

Supports underwriters in the evaluation, analysis, and preparation of insurance submissions by gathering data, conducting preliminary risk assessments, and ensuring accurate documentation. Assists in decision-making with moderate supervision and contributes to maintaining operational efficiency within the underwriting function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and review underwriting data from brokers, agents, and internal systems.
• Perform preliminary risk analysis using established guidelines and rating tools.
• Prepare proposal summaries and coverage comparisons for underwriter review.
• Assist with policy issuance by validating data accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor and track submission status ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding information.
• Maintain organized records and compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Insurance, Business, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in insurance, underwriting support, or a relevant analytical role.
• Exposure to property and casualty insurance industry preferred.

Functional Skills:

• Analytical Thinking – Ability to interpret data and identify risk patterns.
• Attention to Detail – Ensure accuracy in documentation and calculations.
• Communication Skills – Clear and professional interaction with stakeholders.
• Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with underwriting systems and MS Office tools.
• Time Management – Manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
