Job Description

Job Summary:
The Surgical OR CST performs perioperative nursing assisting in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and supporting surgical teams through sterile technique and equipment handling. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to adapt across various surgical specialties.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by organizing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical team members during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient comfort and procedural success.
• Document surgical procedures, equipment used, and patient details accurately in the electronic health record system.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols to promote a safe surgical environment.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of recent experience as an OR CST, with extensive general surgery exposure.
• Demonstrate proficiency with orthopedic, neurosurgery, ophthalmic, and robotic-assisted procedures.
• Hold active certification as a CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) and BLS certification.
• Maintain current state RN license or CST credential.
• Have a radiation badge (must be provided by agency if required).
• Be willing to work a 4x10s shift schedule and participate in on-call rotations.
