Textile Print Designer

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid 4 days on-site; 1-day WFH Friday) Hours: 9a - 5p Duration: Temp to Perm Responsibilities Beyond our renowned womenswear collections, we partner with top-tier licensees across a diverse range of lifestyle categories, including handbags, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, denim, activewear, sleepwear, kid's, fragrance, beauty, and home goods.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Print Designer, you will play a vital role in shaping the print, woven, and color direction across our licensed apparel and home product lines. Working closely with the Design Director, you'll ensure that each piece upholds the brand's identity and resonates with our seasonal trends. This role demands a keen eye for design, an understanding of production processes, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with licensees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Print and Color Direction : Drive seasonal print and color strategies for both apparel and home categories, crafting unique prints and patterns that align with our brand's aesthetic and market demands. Collaboration : Partner with the Design Director to develop original, on-trend designs. Coordinate closely with licensee design teams, ensuring their output aligns with our seasonal vision and brand guidelines. Technical Expertise : Utilize knowledge of vendor capabilities and fabric construction to address considerations like pattern repeats, color limitations, and material requirements. Market Research : Continuously explore and analyze emerging print and color trends to keep designs relevant and competitive. Conduct competitive shopping for category insights in both apparel and home sectors. Presentations and Documentation : Assist in preparing and coordinating brand presentations, trend boards, product schematics, and mappings. Maintain and update the print and woven library, organizing digital files on the company server to ensure easy access and smooth workflow. Creative Execution : Work with the Design Director and licensing partners to finalize design elements, including scale, placement, and graphic techniques, ensuring consistency across all licensed products. Ad-Hoc Projects : Engage in various design tasks as assigned to support overall brand objectives and seasonal launches.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Adobe Creative Suite : Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly for print and pattern development. Eye for Detail : Strong sense of color, detail, and design aesthetics, with a meticulous approach to all creative tasks. Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational and presentation abilities, with an ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Microsoft Office : Competency in Microsoft applications. Experience : 3-4 years of relevant industry experience in print design or related fields.
