About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Legal Affairs with a focus on healthcare and corporate practice of medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring healthcare regulatory compliance across the company's portfolio of franchised brands, with a particular emphasis on weight loss management and wellness. This role requires extensive experience in healthcare compliance, including knowledge of state corporate practice of medicine laws, FDA regulations, advertising and marketing, electronic health records, and patient privacy. The VP will also be involved in advising on a wide range of healthcare laws and regulations, monitoring legal changes, and providing proactive guidance on business impacts. Additionally, the role involves negotiating and drafting various agreements, maintaining a library of legal documents, and overseeing compliance and training programs in the franchised model. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, and be a member of at least one U.S. state bar. The role demands a high level of professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing strategic legal advice, managing risk, and demonstrating leadership and team-building skills. Responsibilities also include supporting M&A activities from a healthcare compliance perspective, supervising legal professionals, and coordinating cross-functional legal input. The VP will be expected to maintain effective working relationships, both internally and with external business partners, and to consistently produce excellent work.
