Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room (ER) will utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, and state laws, as well as documenting care according to standards. The RN will perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, developing and executing individualized patient care plans according to physician orders or clinic policy, while providing instruction to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic patient care.
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing guidelines and regulations.
• Document patient care and assessments accurately and promptly.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and engage in shared governance.
• Utilize critical thinking to enhance patient safety and experience, escalating issues as necessary.
• Provide clinical expertise to support the patient's longitudinal plan of care.

Required Experience

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in Wisconsin.
• Experience in an emergency department setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NIHSS certification.
• TNCC or TNS certification.
