Role Description This full-time, on-site Heavy Equipment Technician role is based in Fredericksburg, VA. The technician will inspect, diagnose, and repair telescopic forklifts and other heavy equipment, including hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, replacing parts, and documenting all work performed. The role also involves collaborating with sales and parts staff to identify needed components, advising customers on equipment condition, and maintaining a safe, organized work area. The technician is expected to follow all safety protocols, use diagnostic tools and manuals, and support continuous improvement in service quality. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Heavy Equipment and Equipment Maintenance for telescopic forklifts and related machinery. Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Repair and Vehicle Maintenance for mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex equipment issues and determining effective repair solutions. Relevant experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, or industrial machinery technician in a shop or field environment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and service documentation. Commitment to workplace safety, including proper tool use and adherence to OSHA or equivalent guidelines. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple service tasks.
