About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required. License: Active Iowa or Multistate nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Must-Have: - Minimum of 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience. - Post-operative surgical experience preferred. - Patient care experience in hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries preferred. - PCA and Heparin experience required. - Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system required. Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. This position requires working four 12-hour shifts on the night shift. Nurses must be willing to float across different facilities as required. Patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:4-5. The unit cares for patients undergoing hip/knee surgeries, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries. The ability to provide emotional support to patients, as well as utilizing an on-site emotional support canine, is essential. Candidates will be required to work 1-2 of the three major summer holidays unless the unit is closed.
