RPG Developer

RPG Programmer Vaco is hiring an RPG Programmer for our client in Cincinnati, OH (45202). The RPG Programmer will develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. This role will support existing applications, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to application modernization and integration initiatives. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance RPG applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform Work with RPG III, RPG IV, ILE RPG, and Free-Form RPG Maintain applications developed with ASNA Visual RPG Translate business requirements into technical solutions Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues Support application modernization, system integration, and performance improvement initiatives Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business teams Maintain technical documentation and follow established development standards Participate in scheduled production support and on-call support as needed Required Qualifications Professional experience developing applications with RPG on the IBM i platform Experience with RPG IV, ILE RPG, CL, and DB2 for i Experience maintaining and enhancing existing applications Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience Preferred Qualifications Experience with Free-Form RPG Experience with ASNA Visual RPG Experience supporting Accounts Receivable or financial applications Familiarity with IBM i system administration concepts Experience with SQL, web services, or system integrations Experience with ERP systems or application modernization initiatives Work Location This is a fully onsite position in downtown Cincinnati, OH.
