We are seeking 2 experienced Automotive Technician to serve as a top-level diagnostic resource and technical leader within our shop.  Ideally, A and/or B Level Techs

Position Summary

This role is for a  true A-Level & B-Level/ Master Technician with 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience and advanced diagnostic capability.

You will handle complex drivability, electrical, and system-level diagnostics, support other technicians with difficult repairs, and ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy across the shop. This position is not entry- or mid-level.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Diagnostics & Repair

• Perform complex diagnostics on drivability, electrical, ADAS, hybrid, and computer-controlled systems
• Diagnose intermittent and hard-to-duplicate vehicle concerns
• Interpret scan data, waveforms, service information, and technical bulletins accurately
• Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine, transmission, and system-level work
• Verify root cause and ensure first-time fix accuracy

Digital Inspections & Documentation

• Complete 100% Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs)with clear notes, photos, and recommendations
• Document diagnostic logic, test results, and repair justification clearly
• Ensure repair orders are accurate, complete, and professional

Leadership & Shop Support

• Assist and mentor Maintenance and Intermediate technicians
• Support service advisors with technical explanations and repair strategies
• Help maintain shop workflow efficiency and repair quality standards
• Serve as a technical authority and escalation point for difficult cases

Quality Control & Workflow

• Verify parts accuracy before repairs begin
• Perform post-repair test drives and final quality checks
• Maintain extremely low comeback rates, especially on safety-related repairs
• Model best practices in cleanliness, organization, and professionalism

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional automotive technician experience (required)
• ASE Master Certification (A1–A8 required)
• L1 / L3 Advanced Diagnostics Certification strongly preferred
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems, CAN networks, drivability diagnostics
• Strong understanding of ADAS, hybrid, and EV systems
• Experience with Digital Vehicle Inspection systems and shop management software
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Leadership mindset with strong communication skills

Performance Expectations

• Weekly Billed Hours: 40+ target
• Efficiency: 130–160%+ (shop mix dependent)
• Comebacks ≤ 0.5%
• Zero safety-related comebacks
• First-Time Fix Rate: 99%+
• DVI Completion: 100% of vehicles, 10–15 clear photos per inspection
• Training: 40+ hours annually (ADAS, EV, diagnostics, OEM updates)
