Work Environment

This position is situated in our busy outpatient office in Newark, where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Our clinic operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for flexible hours to meet patient and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in developing and implementing customized treatment plans that target patient-specific mobility, strength, and functional improvement goals.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises with patients, guiding them through activities designed to improve their physical capabilities and alleviate pain.
• Educate patients and their families on proper body mechanics, therapeutic exercises, and home exercise programs to empower them in managing their recovery.
• Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound treatments, and heat/cold therapy, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines and patient safety standards.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting improvements in range of motion, strength, and overall functional capability in treatment records.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas and equipment, ensuring everything is clean, organized, and readily accessible for therapy sessions.
• Work collaboratively with a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to coordinate patient care, ensuring comprehensive rehabilitation strategies are in place.
• Provide encouragement and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere throughout their rehabilitation process.
• Uphold strict ethical and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for their rights are maintained at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population ranging from children to seniors, each requiring tailored approaches to rehabilitation due to varying conditions and recovery goals. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with formal training from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Compensation and Benefits
