TKO StaffPros is actively recruiting for a Manual Machinist for an evaluation hire (90-days) for a reputable company in Tupelo, MS. This person should be able to set-up and operates, and maintain traditional and/or non-CNC machinery-such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders-to produce precision metal parts. Must be able to interpret blueprints, calculate dimensions, and use tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure high-accuracy components. Pay would start around $15 an hour based on experience . Duties Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Manually operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to cut, shape, and finish parts.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.(Huge Plus)
- Precision Measurement: Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, to verify dimensions against specifications, often within of an inch.
- Setup and Maintenance: Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and work pieces; perform routine maintenance on machines.
- Material Handling: Work with various materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, and plastics.
- Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of manual machining techniques, speeds, and feeds.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to read blueprints and troubleshoot machinery. (a huge plus)
- Experience: Requires at least 2-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment
- Extensive experience operating manual machining equipment such as CNC lathes, mills, and related tools.
- Skilled in CNC programming using
- Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, selection of hand tools, power tools, and proper use of welding equipment when necessary.
