Assistant Service Manager

The Assistant Service Manager is a front‑line associate who is a liaison between the customer and the technician. They assist the customer with taking care of their vehicle, writing the repair order, facilitating the servicing and walking the customer's vehicle through the entire service process. Schedule 4‑week rotating schedule: for three weeks, work 4 days a week for 10 hours each day. For one week, work 3 days for 10 hours each day, and one day for 9 hours. This schedule repeats every 4 weeks. Benefits of this schedule include: 3 days off per week Fewer workdays = fewer commutes Predictable schedule Position is 100% on‑site. Essential Duties Spend at least 60% of daily work communicating information to guests on maintenance and repair needs and writing repair orders. Promote service sales by communicating maintenance and repair needs identified during the service appointment process. Inspect every finished repair order for proper completion, pricing accuracy, and legibility. Collect total retail charges from guests in cash, check, or authorized charge account, make change, and issue receipts. Close and finalize all repair orders for which funds have been received in the computer system, and reconcile cash drawer daily. Remain continuously posted on the shop’s workload to determine the kind of work the shop can quickly accommodate. Keep abreast of new products, features, etc., and their benefits to guests. Base hourly rate: $16.90 plus commission, which can range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) with no upper limit. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent desired. At least 3–5 years of automotive industry experience and expertise (auto repair, customer service, and sales). Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent communication and time‑management skills. Problem‑solving ability and capacity to handle a variety of issues. Self‑motivated and able to follow direction, work independently or as a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task, establish priorities, work independently, and organize effectively. Detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
