Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Telemetry, IMC, or MedSurg nursing specialty
• Must complete all annual competency verification requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Telemetry or IMC setting
• Demonstrated ability to manage contingencies and complex clinical situations independently
