Fuel Maintenance Manager - DFW Market

Overview The Fuel Maintenance Manager is responsible for the planning and oversight of all fuel system maintenance activities within their assigned locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) market. This includes coordinating reactionary maintenance, preventative maintenance, and special projects as needed. Candidates must have previous fuel system maintenance experience and possess excellent management and organizational skills. Collaborate with management and support staff to develop scope of work, request quotes, identify the appropriate contractor, schedule and oversee repairs, and follow up on contractor performance. Perform periodic walk‑through inspections of fuel system equipment to ensure operability and reliability standards are met and to identify additional maintenance needs. Manage the work of assigned Buc‑ee’s Fuel System Technicians and provide direct oversight of third‑party service technicians in the field to ensure repairs are performed cost‑effectively. Identify cost‑saving strategies by compiling and evaluating maintenance tracking data and recommend reductions to the Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety. Thoroughly review and approve invoices from third‑party contractors (under the current capital expenditure threshold) to ensure costs are necessary, appropriate, and in line with the scope of work and/or service level agreements. Track open fuel maintenance work orders to ensure repairs are completed on time. Maintain effective relationships with contractors; evaluate contractor performance and communicate necessary improvements. Work with Operations to identify training needs for store maintenance personnel and coordinate training. Identify new and emerging fuel system technologies and tools to enhance performance, improve the customer experience, reduce costs, or increase reliability. Work in office or assigned work site; no remote work is available. Perform other duties as required and assigned. Perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Position Requirements Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technology, business, or math (not required). Minimum five years of relevant fuel system maintenance or construction experience in the retail market. Significant technical understanding of common fuel dispensers, Veeder‑Root automatic tank gauges, and associated equipment. Proficient skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
