Dental, vision, critical illness and injury coverage, long term care, pet insurance etc. Phlebotomist Job Summary: Perform phlebotomy procedures on all patients including pediatric patients. Perform finger-stick collections on pediatric patients when ordered. Collect urine, mucus or swabs for laboratory testing. Maintain a pleasant working environment for all staff. Duties/Responsibilities: Explain blood draw procedures to patients and answer any questions about the process. Help calm nervous or frightened patients and help them remain calm during the procedure. Gather medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, tubes, etc. Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas. Verify patient information and label all samples properly. Perform phlebotomy successfully with minimal or no complications. Collect other laboratory samples such as urine, nasal swabs, etc. Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients. Work well in a fast-paced setting. Keep work area and patient waiting area clean, organized and presentable. Help problem solve patient issues. Be organized. Be detail oriented. Experience: Must have phone skills and pleasant phone voice; customer service oriented; some computer skills; able to work independently and multi-task; perform well under pressure; able to work at a fast pace.
