We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team in a Pediatric Emergency Room setting. This position requires exceptional clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality care to our young patients.

Unit Information

Location: Humble, TX

Unit Type: Freestanding Emergency Room

Number of Beds: 9

Staffing:

• Day Shift: 3 RNs
• Mid Shift: 1 RN/Tech
• Night Shift: 3 RNs

Patient Care and Equipment

Our unit operates with a patient ratio of 4:1 based on acuity, with the ability to provide 1:1 care for high-acuity patients as needed.

Key equipment includes:

• IV pumps
• POC lab machines: Sysmex XP 300, Piccolo, Alere, Clinitek, Sofia, EPOC, Novastat glucometer
• MACVU360 EKG machine

Our electronic medical records system is Meditech Expanse.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with the following skills:

• Required Skills:
• IV skills
• EKG proficiency
• Triage acuity training
• Preferred Skills:
• ENPC
• CPI training

Typical Procedures

The following procedures are commonly performed in this unit:

• Lab tests including flu, COVID, and strep swabs
• IV and Foley catheter placement
• EKGs
• Moderate sedation

Ideal Candidate

The best candidates for this position are team players who are flexible with assignments and possess a strong work ethic.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• BLS

Floating Areas

Potential to float to the main Emergency Room or other offsite Freestanding Emergency Rooms.

Work Schedule

Weekend shifts will be required, with rotations occurring either weekly or through 4 designated weekend days per schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
