A confidential opportunity is available with an established insurance-focused law firm seeking a junior associate to support a busy insurance coverage litigation practice in Chicago. This role is well-suited to an attorney who enjoys coverage analysis paired with active litigation and wants to build a long-term practice with a clear path to advancement.

THE ROLE

Draft and analyze insurance coverage positions, including reservations of rights and coverage opinions. Handle insurance coverage litigation tasks including pleadings, motion practice, and written discovery. Support depositions, hearings, and broader case strategy under attorney supervision, with increasing responsibility based on experience. Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders regarding coverage issues, litigation status, and risk considerations.

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location: Schedule: Hybrid; in office 3 days/week Compensation: Base salary up to $160,000

REQUIREMENTS

2 to 4 years of relevant insurance coverage experience. Illinois bar admission in good standing. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Strong coverage analysis and insurance coverage litigation skills, including legal research and writing. Ability to work in a hybrid environment and meet a 2,000 billable-hour average.

At the upper end of the range, deeper experience handling the full lifecycle of coverage matters. Adaptable, trainable approach with the ability to integrate into an established practice direction.
