Silvus Technologies – Software Test Engineer Silvus Technologies is a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, reshaping mesh network technology for mission‑critical applications. Its StreamCaster family of MANET radios and proprietary MN‑MIMO waveform provide a vital communications link for defense, law enforcement, and public safety agencies worldwide. We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our Software Engineering team. The role reports to the Software Quality Assurance Manager and focuses on manual regression testing, exploratory and ad‑hoc testing, defect triage, script development, and documentation of design requirements and decisions. Responsibilities Execute manual regression tests on StreamCaster products. Lead ad-hoc testing and debugging efforts for the software department. Perform exploratory tests against defect reports, new features, and bug fixes. Triage defect reports and collaborate with engineers to resolve them. Develop scripts to assist testing of features such as Push-to-Talk (PTT) and network performance. Document software product requirements and design decisions. Adhere to and contribute to upholding software usability and quality standards. Perform other related duties as assigned. Travel locally as required (rare). Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong foundational skills in software development with Python, C/C++, or related languages. Experience developing for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, or bare-metal environments. Demonstrated understanding of software testing practices (unit, integration, system testing) gained through academic projects, internships, or personal work. Fundamental understanding of computer networking concepts. Must be a U.S. citizen. Employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a background check and drug test. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Familiarity with test tools such as Wireshark, TCPDump, Putty/Minicom. Exposure to mesh networking. Experience with Agile methodologies. Experience with electrical or RF instrumentation and design. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting technical challenges. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Indoor, air‑conditioned facility. Employees may be required to lift equipment up to 50 lbs for setup of demonstrations and testing, and perform walking or moving within the lab.
