Position Overview
Nevada State Parks is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Retail Storekeeper to support operations at our visitor center gift shop. This role plays a key part in creating a welcoming environment for park guests while managing retail operations, maintaining inventory, and supporting vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Greet visitors and provide excellent customer service, including sharing information about the park and available merchandise
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to accurately process retail transactions
- Manage inventory, including restocking shelves and receiving product deliveries
- Collaborate with vendors to place orders and assist in developing site-specific merchandise that reflects the unique features of the park
- Perform accurate cash handling and ensure timely, secure deposits
- Maintain clean, organized, and shopper-friendly retail and visitor center areas
- Create attractive product displays that enhance the guest experience
- Perform basic custodial duties such as dusting, sweeping, and vacuuming
- Utilize general office equipment and Microsoft Word/Excel for basic administrative tasks
- Previous retail, customer service, or inventory experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to operate standard office and retail equipment
- Self-motivated with attention to detail and a positive attitude
- Ability to demonstrate job-related skills as part of the hiring process
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as needed
