Security Technician I

Overview Loyal Source is seeking highly skilled Security Technicians to join our team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will support mission‑critical operations for the Library of Congress , ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of complex security and technology systems. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic field environments, excel in technical problem‑solving, and take pride in delivering high‑quality work. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and able to obtain a Secret clearance . Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security systems Support access control systems, including card readers, reader modules, control panels, and electronic locks Perform door monitoring, power supply, and basic CCTV system support Configure hardware and software components Conduct system testing, commissioning, and validation Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance . HS Diploma 2+ years of Experience with electronic security systems and low‑voltage infrastructure Access control and CCTV installation and service experience Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications General computer and networking knowledge Experience with Software House / C‑CURE preferred Experience working in government, critical infrastructure, or secure environments preferred Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems such as: Identiv/Hirsch Velocity Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS AIphone Intercom Systems

Windows OS certifications Electrical Apprenticeship completion. Additional 3+ years of electronics installation/maintenance experience. Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. Demonstrated time‑management and organizational abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Physical & Cognitive Abilities Lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly. Relocate a 12‑ft stepladder independently. Work at heights up to 60 ft on ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and catwalks. Perform repetitive physical tasks: walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling. Good vision (corrected acceptable), color vision, hearing, and English communication. Ability to recognize problems, apply general rules to specific issues, and identify relationships among information. Strong close‑range detail recognition. Region Library of Congress Pay : $32.91 + $4.80 H&W Work Schedule: Flexible schedule based on project needs (may include varying weekday schedules such as Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Friday, or Monday–Thursday, with potential for nights and weekends).
