Rental Works is an independent equipment and tool rental company seeking an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to lead our commercial organization and support our next stage of growth. This is an executive leadership team position with ownership of sales performance, marketing strategy, pricing, customer development, and profitable revenue growth. We need a proven leader who has built a sales organization that consistently delivers results.

You will establish direction, develop the team, and own daily commercial decisions.

What You Will Own

• Leadership & Accountability: Lead, coach, and develop outside and inside sales teams. Set clear expectations and hold people accountable for performance.
• Profitable Revenue Growth: Own the revenue and margin results within your control.
• Sales Execution: Build consistent territory plans, account ownership, pipeline management, CRM discipline, and customer follow-up.
• Pricing & Commercial Discipline: Establish pricing strategy and approval practices that support growth while protecting margins and fleet returns.
• Marketing: Own brand positioning, lead generation, digital presence, and marketing effectiveness.
• Customer & Market Development: Grow strategic accounts, acquire new customers, improve retention, and identify market opportunities.
• Used Equipment Sales: Lead the commercial execution of used equipment sales in coordination with company fleet strategy.
• EOS Leadership & Accountability: Lead weekly departmental Level 10 (L10) meetings with direct reports, ensuring issues are identified, discussed, and solved. Own the development and execution of departmental Rocks and Scorecards, establish meaningful KPIs, and hold the team accountable for measurable results and quarterly priorities.

• Forecasts and pipeline reporting provide reliable visibility into future business.
• Marketing produces qualified opportunities and supports the sales team.
• Customer commitments are clearly documented and made within established authority.
• Routine sales decisions, coaching, and customer issues are resolved within the department.
• Sales works closely with Operations and Service to match customer commitments with available capacity.

What You Bring

• Senior sales leadership experience in equipment rental, heavy equipment, construction services, industrial distribution, or a closely related industry.
• Demonstrated ownership of a business unit with responsibility beyond a personal sales quota.
• A record of building and leading sales teams and delivering measurable, profitable growth.
• Experience with pricing, forecasting, territory management, key accounts, and CRM adoption.
• The ability to translate strategy into clear priorities and consistent execution.
• Strong financial judgment and the confidence to address underperformance and make difficult decisions.
• Experience with EOS/Traction preferred , including scorecards, Rocks, Level 10 meetings, and accountability chart. xhyhwjd
