Position Details Position Title: Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology Position Number: 896669 School/Division: Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Natural Science Full‑Time: Yes Start Date: September 1, 2026 Responsibilities Teach introductory and advanced courses in statistics at the graduate level. Supervise doctoral students in the on‑site training clinic, requiring NY State licensure. Conduct research in clinical psychology, focusing on psychopathology, psychotherapy, assessment, or complementary interests that deepen department offerings. Participate as a core faculty member in the APA‑accredited PhD program in Clinical Psychology. Assume administrative roles within the program, such as Director of Clinical Training or Director of externship/internship placement. Engage in departmental, college, and university activities as required. Leverage collaborative research resources, including access to the neurophysiology lab and the Behavioral Research in Business Lab, and potential cross‑appointment with Northwell Health system facilities. Qualifications Completed or anticipated PhD in Clinical Psychology (award date prior to May 31 2026). Licensed or license‑eligible as a clinical psychologist in NY state; if not yet licensed, a clear plan to achieve licensure within two years of starting. Demonstrated dedication to teaching, research, and clinical practice.
