Registered Nurse (Ambulatory Care) – Kingston, NY

Employment Type: Full-time (Union position)
Salary: $85,280 base/year (up to $86,280 with MSN)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team, providing and coordinating care for patients, families, and significant others in an ambulatory care setting. In this union position, you'll assess, diagnose, plan, and intervene in actual or potential health problems, including evaluating each patient's response to care.

Qualifications:

• AAS or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current Infection Control Certificate.
• Current Child Abuse Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; minimum 1 year in an ambulatory, medical-surgical, or ER setting preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with telephone triage and diagnosis procedures.
• Typically acquired through 3+ years of progressively responsible nursing experience, including patient assessment.
• Proficient with computer applications and the internet; demonstrated knowledge of medications.
• Able to multitask; excellent communication and organizational skills; strong, empathetic telephone communication using open-ended questions; and the ability to make critical independent decisions and prioritize appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and intervene in actual or potential health problems for patients in the ambulatory care setting.
• Coordinate care for patients, families, and significant others, evaluating their response to treatments and interventions.
• Perform telephone triage, using clinical knowledge and communication skills to assess patient needs and direct them to the appropriate level of care.
• Maintain accurate, detailed patient records using computer systems.
