About the Role
Vaco is partnering with a leading distribution company in Birmingham to find an experienced Buyer to join their growing procurement team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning within a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned product categories.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support sales and operations while minimizing excess stock.
- Analyze demand forecasts, sales trends, and lead times to inform purchasing decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships, evaluating supplier performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the supply chain.
