Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required in a similar setting. License: VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, NRP. Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required. Description: The position requires an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. Community hospital experience is preferred. Locals are allowed at the same rate. The candidate must have experience with a patient ratio of 4:1. Charge experience of 1 year is preferred. The nurse will be responsible for the care of patients across all age groups and various diagnoses. The facility is a primary stroke center and administers thrombolytics for strokes and STEMIs. The emergency department has 16 beds but can flex up during high census situations. Dedicated charge nurses are available to assist with patient flow. Support staff including ER techs will help with starting IVs, drawing labs, and patient transportation. Additional nursing support will be available to assist the team during peak hours. The unit features a variety of specialized equipment, including Phillips monitors, Level 1 Infusers, and ultrasound machines for IV access. Candidates will float within scope if needed. A BSN is preferred, but not required. All ER and psychiatric candidates will be required to undergo fingerprinting as per relevant codes. Candidates must complete assigned modules during orientation week for compliance and training. All applicants should be prepared for a thorough background check.
