About the role:

The School Nurse promotes and protects the health and well-being of students and staff by providing health services in accordance with Tennessee state laws, district policies, and best nursing practices. This role supports student success by addressing health-related barriers to learning, managing chronic conditions, providing first aid and emergency care, maintaining health records, and serving as a liaison between school, home, and healthcare providers. The School Nurse also plays a key role in health education, disease prevention, and the development of a safe and healthy school environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Tennessee license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• CPR & First Aid Certified
• At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, public health, or a school setting
• Knowledge of state and federal health regulations, including FERPA & HIPAA
