Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in a Cath Lab setting. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality clinical outcomes throughout invasive cardiac interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and prepare them for cardiac catheterization or EP procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses during procedures, promptly addressing any adverse events.
• Administer medications and sedation as ordered, complying with safety protocols.
• Document all clinical activities and patient interactions accurately within the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on post-procedure care, recovery expectations, and potential complications.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Nursing license and meet all state licensure requirements.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent experience in cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology labs.
• Have current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac arrhythmia recognition and moderate sedation.
• Willing to obtain pending licenses prior to start date; previous EPIC experience preferred.
• Successfully pass cardiac dysrhythmia and moderate sedation tests during orientation.
