About This Role

We are seeking an energetic Group Teacher to join our Before and After School Child Care Program, serving UPK through 5th grade students in the Queensbury School District. Our ideal candidate will create a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for children, working both morning and afternoon sessions.

This is an as-needed on-call position, with hours ranging from 6:45am to 9:00/9:30am and/or 2:30pm to 5:30pm, following the Queensbury School District calendar.

What You'll Do

• Guides children through all activities, working together with other staff to develop engaging, age-appropriate crafts and games.
• Develops and implements curriculum within established guidelines, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.
• Creates and executes daily lesson and activity plans, tailored to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Maintains accurate, systematic observations and evaluations of each child, tracking their progress and growth.
• Maintains positive, open communication with parents, fostering strong relationships and ensuring a collaborative approach to their child's education.
• Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the program room and equipment, creating a safe and welcoming space for children.
• Maintains required program records, accurately documenting key milestones and events.
• Attends and actively participates in program activities, staff meetings, and required trainings, staying up-to-date with the latest regulations and best practices.
• Complies with all licensing regulations, upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence in our program.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the School Aged Childcare Director, ensuring the smooth operation of our program.

Requirements

• Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the New York Office of Child and Family Services.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is highly preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age- appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Previous experience with diverse populations, with the ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
