Job Title: Material Handler – Water Spider / Warehouse Logistics Specialist Job Description

This role combines hands-on material handling with inventory control and light machine shop support. You will load, unload, and move materials using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, perform inventory transactions in an MRP system, and assist with deburring and sanding parts in a machine shop environment. The position requires a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and safe operation of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete full inventory of parts using an MRP system to accurately track materials and transactions.
• Load and unload ocean containers and trucks using a crowbar, claw hammer, and other hand tools as needed.
• Operate forklifts, stock pickers, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move inventory and materials to and from warehouses and storage areas.
• Pick and stage inventory in accordance with sales orders, work orders, and material requisitions to support production and shipping schedules.
• Perform manual and clerical tasks related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain the stockroom in an orderly, clean, and organized fashion to support efficient material flow and easy access to inventory.
• Perform data entry to update inventory records, shipping and receiving documentation, and other related system transactions.
• Process incoming shipments by receiving, inspecting, and verifying materials against documentation and updating system records.
• Process outgoing shipments by preparing documentation, labeling, and coordinating the movement of goods to carriers.
• Prepare and package spare parts and machine orders for shipping, including special assignments and custom packaging as required.
• Conduct cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies in coordination with inventory control procedures.
• Spend the first half of the day focused on material movement using forklifts and pallet jacks to support warehouse operations.
• Support the machine shop in the second half of the day by deburring and sanding parts to required standards.
• Follow all safety procedures while operating equipment and handling materials to maintain a safe work environment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of related inventory experience, including generating proper documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Proficiency using an MRP system or similar inventory management software to track parts and transactions.
• Demonstrated experience with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation, inspection, and verification of materials.
• Strong material handling skills, including order picking, packing, and staging inventory for production and shipment.
• Proven ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively; forklift experience is required.
• Experience using pallet jacks, stock pickers, and hand trucks to move materials in a warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform accurate cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Competence in data entry and basic computer usage to support inventory and shipping documentation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to perform deburring and sanding tasks in a machine shop environment.
• PC literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Familiarity with high-precision or technical equipment and components.
• Comfort using hand tools such as crowbars and claw hammers for loading and unloading tasks.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly stockroom and manage multiple tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory records, documentation, and packaging.
• Ability to adapt between warehouse and machine shop tasks within the same workday.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with shipping, receiving, production, and other internal teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a precision waterjet machine manufacturing facility in Kent, WA. You will work in a warehouse and machine shop environment that focuses on high-accuracy abrasive waterjet systems and related equipment. The workplace uses an MRP system for inventory control and standard Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel for daily tasks. You will regularly operate forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, and hand trucks, and you will use hand tools such as crowbars and claw hammers to assist with loading and unloading ocean containers and trucks. The position involves a split day, with the first half dedicated to material movement and warehouse logistics, and the second half spent in the machine shop performing deburring and sanding of parts. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness to support precision manufacturing and efficient material flow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
