Salary: $19.25/Hour Minimum

Minimum Requirements:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.

Experience as a security guard or security officer may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Current registration as a Security Guard with the New York State Department of State.

If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.

Desired Qualifications:

Previous work experience with students K-12;

CPR/AED certification or willingness to be certified;

Ability to work with groups of students, staff and public;

Willingness to work additional hours as needed;

Willingness to work an alternate work day schedule as required to support the educational program needs;

Daily attendance is expected.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Provides security for the school building and enforces security and smoking regulations;

Works collaboratively with other safety team members to take action on the discipline and behavior problems of students within the school building;

Builds relationships with students to facilitate student academic and social success;

Works collaboratively with other security staff to quickly resolve any problems involving student safety;

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
