About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Radiologic Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Must hold ARRT registration in at least two modalities Certifications: Current BLS certification to be obtained within 90 days Must-Have: - Registration in Radiology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Mammography (M), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS), or Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMTCB). Description: The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. The Radiologic Technologist provides patient education, quality patient care, and ensures that all regulatory compliance is met. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of imaging procedures in at least two modalities. Practices radiation safety and adheres to ALARA standards. Asks patients if they are pregnant and protects them from harmful radiation. Performs quality control in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations. Able to operate equipment consistent with manufacturer’s guidelines. Performs all exams based on department protocols or collaborates with the Radiologist to protocol the exam. Assists with clerical duties and patient transportation when required. Answers the telephone, directs calls, and accurately records messages as needed. Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed. Completes equipment downtime forms and immediately notifies management of equipment issues. Demonstrates flexibility in rearranging work schedules to cover emergencies, illnesses, or vacations. Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimal supervision. Notifies the Radiologist of all STAT or emergent cases and provides the ordering physician's contact information. Obtains appropriate informed consents when required. Performs and documents medical history as it pertains to the patient and the procedure. Acts as a positive and supportive team member to all staff members. Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining supply inventory. Submits all written orders and required imaging forms to the appropriate department. Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently contacts the service engineer for maintenance. Verifies exam orders, identifies patients through two means of identification, and provides education regarding the exam. Ensures that all relevant paperwork is completed and prior studies are available before procedures are submitted for interpretation. May be required to obtain additional training or certification to meet departmental needs. Assists or rotates to other imaging modalities when required and within the scope of held licensure. May assist with taking calls, working holidays, and/or weekends. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Strives to uphold regulatory requirements ensuring compliance with departmental and federal regulations. Follows infection control, safety, and risk management policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures regarding attire/dress code. Maintains confidentiality at all times. Reports to work on time as scheduled and completes work within designated timeframes. Completes annual education, training, in-service, licensure, and certification requirements.
