Position Title: Software Support Engineer
Location: Greensboro, NC (Hybrid)
Compensation: $75K - $90K per year

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Software Support Engineer to play a key role in supporting and enhancing critical business applications. This position is responsible for ensuring system availability, responding to application-related issues, and working across teams to deliver effective technical solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining system performance and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for enterprise applications and operational systems.
• Investigate software and system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective resolutions.
• Manage incoming support tickets and service requests while meeting established response and resolution targets.
• Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to address application and infrastructure challenges.
• Review recurring incidents and develop long-term solutions to improve system reliability.
• Monitor application performance and system functionality to identify potential issues before they impact users.
• Create and maintain support documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in system testing and validation activities related to updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.
• Support change management initiatives and ensure updates are implemented with minimal business disruption.
• Maintain compliance with organizational procedures, security standards, and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in application support, software support, technical operations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success troubleshooting complex software issues in a business environment.
• Strong understanding of incident management and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Hands-on experience writing and analyzing SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation.
• Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) or similar production-focused platforms.
• Familiarity with ticketing and issue management systems, preferably Jira.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting ERP platforms, particularly Microsoft Dynamics NAV or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of VB.NET, C#, or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience developing scripts or automations using PowerShell, Python, or related technologies.
• Background supporting manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technology-based organizations.
• Understanding of application lifecycle management and software release processes.
