Network Administrator - Network & Telecoms

Salary: $85,800 - 115,416 per year Requirements:

• We need five years of experience and/or education related to the role, including project coordination, documentation management, network engineering and troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance and optimization, and network design and evaluation.
• We require education in information technology, computer science, or a closely related field.
• We value a bachelors degree with a focus on computer science, network hardware, or network architecture.
• We prefer four years of IT experience designing and supporting Cisco wireless controllers, Cisco core infrastructure, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Identity Services Engine, and data center environments.
• We prefer strong proficiency with Cisco IOS and a working knowledge of routing protocols and services for wired and wireless networks.
• We consider these qualification paths acceptable: five years of experience; four years of experience plus 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter credits; three years of experience plus an associates degree; two years of experience plus 90-119 semester or 135-179 quarter credits; or one year of experience plus a bachelors degree.

• We provide primary network engineering support for our on-premises and cloud infrastructure by installing, configuring, and maintaining Layer 2 and Layer 3 components, gateways, and firewalls.
• We monitor LAN/WAN performance and operational stability across agency sites, identify anomalies, bandwidth concerns, outages, and security events, and coordinate follow-up with providers and our security team.
• We deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 support statewide, resolving complex wired and wireless issues, authentication problems, and WAN disruptions while performing root cause analysis.
• We carry out routine upkeep to keep our network environment secure and optimized, including updates, patching, password rotation, certificate management, and standards compliance.
• We maintain precise and current network documentation, including IP assignments, topology diagrams, configuration guides, and hardware inventories.
• We provide technical consultation on network architecture and implementation, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor support staff.
• We build vendor relationships, research emerging networking technologies, and recommend solutions that improve reliability and meet business needs.
• We lead and support project planning and implementation by analyzing dependencies, creating work plans, strengthening security, and coordinating schedules across service teams.
